Nate Daligcon
Head Coach
Bio
Nate Daligcon, an All-American player and top area club soccer coach, was hired as an assistant coach with the Redhawk men's soccer program prior to the 2013 season. In July 2014, Daligcon was promoted to the title of Associate Head Coach. Following the 2022 season, Daligcon was named the 10th head coach in program history.
In 2022 the Redhawks finished the season with a 7-10-1 record and completed their 10th straight top-4 finish in the WAC standings. After defeating Grand Canon in the opening round of the WAC tournament, the season came to an end with a loss to San Jose State in the semifinals.
Daligcon helped SU through its abbreviated Spring 2021 season, as the Redhawks won six matches and advanced to the WAC Tournament semifinals.
In 2022 the Redhawks finished the season with a 7-10-1 record and completed their 10th straight top-4 finish in the WAC standings. After defeating Grand Canon in the opening round of the WAC tournament, the season came to an end with a loss to San Jose State in the semifinals.

In 2019, the Redhawks returned to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in seven years. They finished the season on a 16-game unbeaten streak, the longest active streak in the nation entering the 2020 campaign. SU won an NCAA Tournament game for the fourth straight appearance, winning at Loyola Marymount, 3-1, before tying at Stanford in the second round.
The 2018 season saw SU continue its string of success, as the Redhawks won 13 games. They are one of just four Division I programs to win at least 11 games in each of the last six seasons. For a third straight year, Seattle U saw at least one of its players get drafted, as seniors Sergio Rivas and Nathan Aune were both selected by San Jose in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft.

In 2017, the Redhawks won their third WAC Championship in the last five years and won an NCAA Tournament match for third time since 2013. Daligcon was key in SU winning 15 games, marking its fifth consecutive season with at least 11 wins. The Redhawks are one of just three Division I programs to win 11 or more games in each of the last five years.
Daligcon has played a large role in the Redhawks' surge of recent success, including a Sweet Sixteen appearance, a pair of NCAA Tournament showings, and a WAC Championship. In 2016, Seattle U went 7-0 at Championship Field, extending its home win streak to 16 games-the longest active streak in Division I entering the 2017 season.
With Daligcon's leadership, the Redhawks improved their win total by eight in 2013, going undefeated in conference play, and winning the conference regular season and tournament titles. The Redhawks also made the program's first ever appearance in the NCAA Division I tournament, defeating Creighton, 2-1, in the First Round.
Daligcon has been a head coach for several local club teams since 2004, most recently serving as head coach of Seattle United B01 Copa and G95 Copa. He led Emerald City FC G93 A to the 2005 Washington State Cup championship, plus guided two other squads to the state cup finals. He has also served as an assistant men's soccer coach at Seattle Pacific since 2009.
Daligcon was a two-time All-American at Seattle Pacific, helping the Falcons win the 1993 Division II national championship and advance to three national semifinal games as a center midfielder. He played in the A-League from 1996 through 2002, winning four league titles (three with the Rochester Rhinos, one with the Seattle Sounders), as well as the 1999 U.S. Open Cup championship as a member of the Rochester Rhinos.
Daligcon received his Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration with a marketing concentration from Seattle Pacific University, plus he holds a USSF "A" coaching license.
Brooks Hopp
Assistant Coach
Bio
Coach Hopp joined the staff at Seattle University in 2022. Under Coach Hopp’s tutelage Seattle University goalkeepers were named to the WAC all conference first team in 2022 (Akili Kasim) and 2023 (Charlie Lanphier). In 2023 the Seattle University men's soccer coaches were named the top staff in the Division I Far West Region by the United Soccer Coaches.
Prior to Seattle University Hopp coached club and High School soccer in the Seattle Area. In 2019 Hopp was named Northwest region High School Coach of the Year by United Soccer Coaches. Hopp played collegiate soccer at the University of Washington where he graduated with bachelor’s degree.
In addition to his duties with the Redhawks men’s soccer program, Hopp coaches at Seattle United where is the head coach for premier teams and coaches the clubs goalkeepers.

Jason Farrell
Assistant Coach
Bio
Seattle U men's soccer and head coach Nate Daligcon have announced the addition of Jason Farrell to the coaching staff ahead of the 2023 season.
"We are excited to announce Jason as the newest member of our coaching staff," coach Daligcon said of the addition. "He brings a wealth of experience as a coach and player, that will have an immediate and lasting impact on our team and will help elevate the program."
Farrell, a Seattle native, most recently served as the head coach of Ballard FC of USL League 2. He led Ballard to an 8-2-2 regular season in their inaugural season last year, before guiding the team to a playoff run that saw them reach the Western Conference Finals. The team clinched their second straight playoff berth before Farrell stepped down this season.
Despite starting his professional coaching career with the Sounders in 2006, Farrell first served as an assistant coach with the Seattle U program back in 2005. The Redhawks went 13-6-0 that season, finishing first in the GNAC.
"Jason has a great track record of success at all levels he has coached in the Pacific Northwest," Daligcon added. "We look forward to the role he will play in supporting and challenging our student athletes in their growth as people, students, and players."
Prior to his career in coaching, Farrell had a successful career as a player. After graduating from Shorecrest High School, he attended the University of Washington and Seattle Pacific University. Post college he joined the Seattle Sounders - then of the USL - where he spent three seasons while appearing in 69 games. He was drafted by the Columbus Crew in the 1997 MLS Supplemental Draft, spending four seasons with the club. In all, he spent 11 seasons with five different clubs.
"I am positively thrilled to "return" to Seattle University and honored to join Nate's staff," Farrell said of returning to the program. "I have known Nate for quite a while and have always respected the way he sees the game and, perhaps more importantly, how he treats those he works with and the players under his tutelage."
